Despite reports a couple of days ago detailed in Marca which claimed that Gonzalo Higuain still wanted to leave Real Madrid, the same site are now running a piece claiming that the Argentine forward could have changed his mind.
Set to meet with Carlo Ancelotti regarding his future next week, Higuain has not spoken to the president of Real Madrid since he declared he wanted to leave according to the Spanish daily.
Marca expect Higuain to lay out the reasons he made the statements he did regarding his desire to move – being singled out by the fans when the side lost and not feeling as if he was appreciated – and Ancelotti will attempt to convince him to stay.
The Spanish site are still reporting that no offers have been received for the forward from any club although they say that there have been some enquiries about his status.
Real Madrid still want more than the €27m Arsenal are said to be willing to pay.
Of course, if the player decides to stay the rest of it all becomes meaningless and so much of this story to date has been speculation and guess work that it is hard to tell the fact from the fiction.
