Sanchez Watt has signed a two year deal with Colchester United where he will join former Arsenal youth Craig Eastmond who has already signed for the U’s.
Watt arrived at Arsenal when he was discovered aged just seven amid interest from Barcelona.
A product of Arsenal’s youth academy, Watt signed his first professional contract with the club in 2007 but he has failed to develop as the club had hoped and after a number of season’s out on loan, Arsenal released the player this summer.
Speaking prior to the transfer at the end of May, Colchester’s assistant manager Mark Kinsella had said
“We would definitely be interested in Sanchez.
“We’ve got Craig Eastmond and the pair play off one another.
“They’ve been at Arsenal together for a number of years and they bring the best out of one another’s games.
“If we could bring the pair of them to Colchester on a permanent basis, it would be fantastic.”
We wish them both all the best at their new club.
