According to the Spanish Daily Marca Arsenal are monitoring Sevilla midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.
At the end of May the midfielder spoke to Onda Cero Radio to say
“I have four years left of my contract, but you never know,”
“My goal is to finish the season and continue at Sevilla.”
“What do I think of Madrid? I like Madrid, as I like other clubs. But I am happy at Sevilla.”
And Wenger himself was coy when asked about the player in April saying
“I don’t really want to talk about Kondogbia too much because everyone’s after him at the moment.”
“When you ask ‘Are you also interested?’, what do you expect me to say?”
Marca offer absolutely nothing new to this story so it remains to be seen if the interest has been intensified by Arsenal or if this is simply an old story being rehashed.
20 year old Kondogbia has been attracting admiring glances from a number of top clubs and with four years left on his current deal with the Spanish side he is not likely to come cheap.
Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund have all seen their names linked with the player recently.
Kondogbia joined Sevilla from Lens in the last summer transfer window.
