According to the Spanish website Mundo Deportvio, Arsenal are interested in obtaining the services of Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa.
Costa, who has managed 15 goals and 13 assists, is said to have caught the attention of Arsene Wenger who is following the player. We assume they mean on the pitch rather than around the streets.
With Arsenal needing a forward it is likely to be along summer until one is purchased or the window closes and I expect the club to be linked with just about every front man out there who isn’t Messi or Ronaldo.
That being said, none of this means that we will actually be going for Diego Costa and the piece on the Spanish site gives absolutely zero evidence as to how they know that Arsenal have had their eye caught by the player.
The Daily Express are also running this story and it seems as if they might have actually got to it first but you can imagine how my heart sunk when the Daily Express stated as their source none other than Caughtoffside. Seriously.
An unfounded rumour which could signal actual interest, a bored reporter or a naughty agent – given that it came from Caughtoffisde, I’m going to go with the second option.
