Stevan Jovetic has been advised to hold out for a move to a ‘bigger’ club than Arsenal by his Fiorentina team mate Luca Toni.
Jovetic has himself said he fancies a move to the Premier League, and admits to a liking for the Gunners, but the Montenegro forward might have his head turned by bigger offers if he continues to get this kind of advice.
According to Football Italia, Toni said:
“I tell him to think carefully before leaving Florence, as there is an important project here. If he has to leave, then make it for a real top club. Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United fit that bill, but Arsenal are not better than Fiorentina.”
It’s understandable that Toni might say this, as Jovetic is obviously a player who could make it to the very top, but Fiorentina haven’t exactly set the world alight in recent years, often fighting for the Champions League places and failing to get one more often than not.
Also, Jovetic has to consider if he’d get games at these other clubs. All of them, United especially, have a lot of other strikers that would probably get in ahead of him. At Arsenal Jovetic could get a real chance to play regularly at the top level.
