Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour says he has hopes that his old team can end their trophy drought by winning the FA Cup this season.
In an interview on bwinbetting.com he said he thinks with a bit of luck – avoiding the other big sides – they could go all the way, and expects them to beat Blackburn in tomorrow’s game at the Emirates.
“I’ve got a funny feeling Arsenal could do it this year, they’re desperate for a trophy, they haven’t won a trophy for eight years.
“I think Arsene Wenger’s taking these cup competitions a lot more seriously than he did in past years, I mean you look at the other cup competition and he really put a strong side out, I know they got beaten by Bradford, but you can see the intent, they’re having a go this year.
“It won’t be an easy game against Blackburn but I expect Arsenal to win the game.”
Arsenal have already overcome Swansea and Brighton in the competition so far. However, the shock defeat in the League Cup to Bradford is one that will haunt gooners, so let’s hope the players won’t take Blackburn or any team lightly.
