Galatasary will try again to sign Andre Santos from Arsenal in the summer, after reportedly failing to tempt the Brazilian away this January, according to the Mirror.
The left-back has had a bad season for the Gunners this year and it was thought the club would try to offload him in the January transfer window. This article claims that he was close to agreeing a move to the Turks, but that he turned them down to fight for his place.
In the end, Arsenal brought in Malaga defender Nacho Monreal as something of an emergency measure, as Kieran Gibbs faces around six weeks on the sidelines after sustaining an injury just one day before the transfer window closed. Santos may rue his decision to stay now, as Arsene Wenger has made it perfectly clear he doesn’t really value him even as a backup option.
Former club Fenerbache were also linked with the 29-year-old, and a move back to the Turkish league seems most likely for a player who has certainly failed to adapt to the pace of the English game.
