Marseille defender Nicolas N’koulou has ruled out a move away from the club this January, despite being linked with moves to Arsenal and AC Milan.
The Frenchman is highly rated in Ligue 1 and has been linked with a host of Europe’s top clubs, however he insists his focus right now is to win silverware with his current team.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, he said:
“I need to finish the season in a strong position, I am not thinking about any transfer at the moment. I want to help Marseille to finish with a trophy this season, my future will be discussed at the end of the season.”
As the transfer window draws to a close, it’s looking increasingly unlikely that Arsene Wenger will bring anyone in. However, a move for N’koulou was probably not a priority for the boss anyway, as he has good options in defence already.
It will be interesting to see if we are linked again in the summer, as it’s always nice to have extra options. And we know how the manager likes to find talent in his native France.
