Arsenal’s Denilson has been on loan with Sao Paulo since 2011 and has spoken frequently about his desire to stay in Brazil with the only other club he has played for but it seems as if that might not be as straight forward as many would imagine.
With just under six months left on his loan deal, the president of Sao Paulo has said regarding the possibility that they will make Denilson’s move permanent
It’s early. We will see if we want to buy him, but not now, in the middle of the year.
Seemingly playing down any possibility of a move contradicts what the vice president said just one week ago when he claimed that he was confident of being able to come to an arrangement with Arsenal over the permanent signing of the player.
Speaking last week Denilson reiterated his desire to stay with Sao Paulo saying
If Sao Paulo came tomorrow telling me that I was signed, it would be an immense joy. It has always been my desire to stay at the club.
Denilson will have 12 months left on his Arsenal contract once his loan deal expires on June 30th. Randomly, there have been reports that Juventus are interested in signing him.
