Arsenal youngster Joel Campbell was on the score sheet for his loan club Real Betis today, as can be seen here on 101greatgoals. He sidefooted the opener in a 2-0 win over Levante.
The Costa Rica forward is highly thought of at Arsenal, but has had to spend time out on loan to obtain a work permit for playing in England. He had a mixed time at Lorient last season, but seems to have improved this year in La Liga with Betis.
It is a similar situation to that of former Gunners striker Carlos Vela, who had several loan spells before a long-awaited chance in the first-team at the Emirates. However, he never quite made the grade at Arsenal despite his promise shown in other leagues. He also scored today for current club Real Sociedad.
Hopefully Campbell will do better, and continue to gain valuable experience away from the club before returning and adding something a bit different to our options upfront.
