Arsenal target Lucas Biglia looks increasingly likely to be leaving current club Anderlecht after the in-demand midfielder refused to show up for training with the team.
The Argentinian looked close to a move to the Gunners in the summer, and has been linked again several times for a January move as Arsenal look to strengthen a midfield missing the departed Alex Song and the ever-injured Abou Diaby.
Sky Sports report that Anderlecht apparently released a statement via their official site, that read:
“The Anderlecht board have unsuccessfully tried to get in contact with Lucas Biglia and his agent. Today the club has called in the help of their lawyers to protect the rights of RSC Anderlecht.”
The writing is surely on the wall for Biglia at Anderlecht now. However, is this the kind of attitude we want at our club? We’ve had players holding us to ransom before when they’ve wanted a move and it’s not something we want again. If Biglia does well for Arsenal and decides again that he could do better, we could see a repeat of this behaviour.
Newcastle and AC Milan have also been linked with the player. To be honest, we’ve been linked with him so many times I feel we would’ve signed him by now if we really wanted him. Not sure this one is ever going to happen.
