Alex Song has not really enjoyed much love since his arrival in Spain has he? Voted the second worst signing of the summer just behind Luka Modric at Real Madrid, he has struggled to get any playing time and when he has been on the pitch he has often been deployed at centreback.
Now the Spanish site Fichajes is linking the player with a move in the summer with Barcleona looking to get rid of him in a situation which is incredibly similar to that with Alex Hleb – lure a player who is doing very well at Arsenal to your club and then ruin their career.
According to the piece PSG have emerged as one of the clubs to show an early interest in Song though whether Barcelona do actually ship him out in the summer I guess we will have to wait and see.
The piece continues that Barcelona are expecting to see an improvement from the player in the second half of the season because, to date, Tito Villanova has failed to see anything of the player who was so successful with Arsenal.
Alex Song declared his move to Barcleona as a dream, claiming that he couldn’t turn down a move to the Catalan giants despite his love for Arsenal. I’m sure I’m not the only Arsenal fan who is smirking slightly at the thought of him being dumped after only one season.
