Le10Sport are today reporting that Younes Belhanda, long linked with a move to Arsenal, has agreed terms with Turkish side Fenerbahce .
The player, who was reported to be on Arsenal’s wishlist during the summer before Montpellier wanted some stupidly high transfer fee, was also wanted by Manchester City if reports were to be believed.
The report on the French site says that the two clubs are still in negotiations regarding the fee but they expect that to be concluded within the next few hours.
After being linked with a move to England in the summer the player said on his official Facebook page
I want to share with you my decision to continue my adventure at Montpellier this season.
As I’ve already said, I really want to play in the Champions League with the club that gave me my first chance and I am very happy to wear the jersey this season!
Not so happy now, it seems, that Montpellier are out of the Champions League.
Fenerbahce said recently on their official website when it was claimed that a deal between the sides had been reached
“What was announced on NTVSpor, that is to say an agreement between Fenerbahce and Montpellier for Younes Belhanda, is not true. The staff are working on this transfer, but are not yet in a position to announce a deal.”
The story on the French site has only just been released and they are claiming it as an exclusive, apart from the rumours which were in place earlier.
Still, another one we can stop hearing daft rumours about.
