Olivier Giroud has said he is happy with life at Arsenal and that he is settling in London, although one of his former employers thinks he would have been better off staying in France.
The striker won the league with Montpellier last season, and the club’s chairman Louis Nicollin is angry at Giroud’s decision to move to the Gunners.
He told France Football:
“I understand, eh, Arsenal is everything. But still, he should have stayed, it would have been better for everyone, including him. Because there he does not enjoy himself and have a laugh every day.
“But he’s a good player. And a good guy. It’s heartbreaking. He had a clause, he used, I don’t blame him. But it annoys me.”
However, Talksport quoted the forward as saying he is enjoying the challenge of improving at a big team. He also admits he has had to do a lot of adapting since his move.
“I am well integrated into the team, but it is important for me to speak and learn English and the customs of my new country. It really is a club where I feel very well and I’m improving every day. And London is a cosmopolitan city where I meet lots of people.”
