Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was delighted to be involved with the first-team again, as he marked his return from injury with a win in the North London derby.
Szczesny had only played one game previously this season, but returned from injury to help the side to a 5-2 win over Spurs – a result, he feels, could get Arsenal’s season on track.
Speaking to Arsenal Player, he said:
“First of all I’m delighted to be back in the team and I thought we were brilliant from start to finish.
“Over the 90 minutes we controlled the game very well. I thought we showed everyone there’s definitely a difference in class between the two teams.
“This win [over Spurs] can do exactly what it did for us last year. We pushed on then and although it’s come earlier in the season, hopefully we can kick on again this time.
I think it would be fair to say that Mannone had a mixed time during his spell in goal, and Szczesny’s return will probably be a positive, despite some questionable displays at the end of last season.
