Arsenal.com has announced that Emmanuel Frimpong has joined Charlton Athletic on loan until January 1st 2013 with the midfielder being sent out to try and get some regular playing time to aid his return to full fitness after lengthy injury lay-off.
Frimpong will spend six weeks with Chris Powell’s side in the Championship and it is not known at the point if he will then return to Arsenal and try to secure a first team spot or if he will be sent out on loan again.
Frimpong’s last loan spell, with Wolves, was cut short when the midfielder suffered his second serious knee injury of his short career and everyone connected with Arsenal will be hoping that his injury problems are now in the past.
Chris Powell told the official Charlton website
“We’re really happy that he’s coming in to join our squad, and we welcome him to the club. We’ve had our eye on him for a while, and with the busy Christmas period to come, I felt it was right to make sure that we are covered in all areas. We hope that does very well for us in the red or black of Charlton.”
