Arsenal youngster Philip Roberts, who is currently on loan with Inverness until January wants to extend his loan spell according to Inverness manager Terry Butcher.
As reported in the Islington Gazette, Butcher said
I have spoken to some of the players and we will wait and see what they have to say. I don’t think anyone is playing badly at the moment and we don’t want anyone to go.
We have such a good young team and we regularly have around four players under the age of 21 in the starting line-up this season. Philip Roberts has indicated he would like to stay. We would like to get it concluded pretty quickly and I am very optimistic we will do it soon.
He is such a smashing kid and he is enjoying his football with us. It is a great credit to Arsenal for loaning him to us and there is so much more to come from him.
Roberts, who plays as a striker, signed for Arsenal in 2010 from Norwich and the republic of Ireland youth has made six starts for the Scottish side and has found the net on one occasion.
