Wilshere adapting to new players

Jack Wilshere says the new players in the team are ‘bonding’, and that he feels they will continue to improve as the season progresses.

The 20-year-old has only recently returned from a long injury layoff that kept him out for the whole of last season, and has found himself returning to a team with almost entirely different players from when he last played in 2010/11.

Talking to Arsenal Player after the Schalke game last night, he said:

“We still have a lot of new players. I have only played with them three times and we feel we are getting better and better as a team, and that we are bonding. Hopefully things will just get better from here.

“[Schalke] is a hard place to come, they are a great team with great fans and we have had two good games. We’re pleased we got a point.

“The goal before half time killed us really. I think if we had gone in 2-0 up it was finished, but we showed great character in the second half.

“They came at us and we knew they would be pumped because of the goal just before half time. We defended well, and if we defend like that in every game then we will keep clean sheets.”

I was wondering if it was just me that thought the Emirates has been quiet. Especially in the game against sp*rs. I’m watching on tv, but it just doesn’t seem to be loud. I know our history, but i know I’ve also heard away matches that we have more of a voice than the home team. I think that goes along with what you were saying about the more dedicated fans traveling. Hope it’s a rout tonight. 4-0 or 5-0 would do nicely. RvP chipping in with one would do him some good too!

i hope 2nite van reminds the world of his awesomeness. hes been vacant for so long its easy to forget hes the world class striker we’ve been waiting for. if VP hits top form just imagine how glorious our season could be.

Fingers crossed he stays fit because he could make the difference with regards to lifting a trophy, but he’s just as liable to pick up an injury tonight and be out for a month !

its a shame, if he wasn’t so injury prone he would be our captain by now
