Arsenal increasing scouting network in Germany?

A story appeared online last night from the Daily Mail suggesting that Arsenal are preparing to expand their scouting network in Germany.

With BFG and Podolski already being important players at the Emirates – and promising youngsters Gnabry and Eisfield on the verge of the breaking into the first team – the German contingent at Arsenal could well increase over the next few years.

With new talent breaking through in Germany at an astounding rate – the story would suggest that Wenger is obviously keen to try and tempt more of the potential stars away from their homeland at a young age and bring them into our youth setup.

From my point of view – it can’t come soon enough. I’ve always thought that Wenger has focused on Spain and France at the expense of Germany– and I guess that the latest batch of players to come through the country (Goetze, Ozil, Sahin etc) has convinced him to increase our network over there.

Let’s just hope that our luck with Germans continues. Wenger’s on a good run with them at the moment. But it hasn’t always been that way …..

“………….sound acquisition for us and further strengthens our squad”.

On a serious note though – this could well prove to be a very shrewd move by Wenger. Especially if he unearths some more gems. ….
