Tamworth might be playing in the fifth tier of English football but that hasn’t stopped their top scorer, Adam Cunnington, dreaming of a mega move, something the player has no interest in at the minute. Unless Arsenal come calling of course.
Speaking to the local press, Cunnington said
I am loving it at Tamworth, I really am. I am enjoying playing for the club, I am getting on with all the players, I feel happy here, I know and like the manager – it is all going great. That counts for a lot in football, you cannot underestimate how much it means to feel comfortable at a club.
Saying that, I am like any other footballer, I do want to progress in my career. If Arsenal come knocking in January say, I might have to say hello, but in all honesty, we are a long way from talking about moves anywhere from this club.
Cunnington, 24, has scored 11 goals in 14 matches this season so far with four assists.
While Arsenal do like to buy lesser known players it would be foolish to think that Arsenal would make a move for Cunnington. That being said, it’s always great to hear of players who want to join Arsenal, no matter how likely that is.
