Diaby loss is a blow says Wenger

Speaking about how he holds the French national side responsible for Diaby’s latest injury, Arsene Wenger was also speaking to the official Arsenal site about what the loss of Diaby means to Arsenal

He said

It is an opportunity for somebody else to stand up and play, but it is a blow. Not only because we lost a good player but because he has qualities that the players haven’t got.  We have a better balance size-wise and strength.

It is true, Diaby’s tall yin to Santi’s small yang.

He continues

We also have Ramsey, Coquelin, Chamberlain, Wilshere, it depends on if you want to be more offensive. We have plenty of players who are in between higher up and lower down in midfield.

Wenger also stated that there was the possibility of moving Arteta and allowing Coquelin to play the deeper role saying

Arteta can play higher and deeper as well. So we can put a deeper midfielder in like Coquelin and then Arteta can move forward.
