Keown: Cazorla better than Fabregas

Arsenal legend Martin Keown has given his opinions on Arsenal’s new midfield maestro and has claimed that he believes he is better that Cesc Fabregas, who left the Premier League to join boyhood club Barcelona last summer after spending eight years with Arsenal.  In contrast, Cazorla hasn’t even been here eight weeks.  Keown said:

He is Liam Brady and Cesc Fabregas rolled into one: he has Brady’s shooting ability and Fabregas’s vision. He’s better than Fabregas with the ball too – he moves it so quickly, which is shown by the fact he’s had more touches in the opposition half than any player so far this season.

That’s quite the endorsement, but he wasn’t finished there, adding

Watching him, it is difficult to tell sometimes if he is right or left footed, as he is so comfortable with both. Straight away Cazorla has taken on the role of lieutenant in the Arsenal midfield. He is happy to receive the ball anywhere, he’s taking free kicks and his vision is superb.

Widely reported to be Arsenal’s record signing (depending on where you read it, the fee Arsenal paid for Cazorla was anywhere between £11m and £16.5m) he looks as if he has played with the club and in the Premier League for years.

And to think, he will probably only get better as he gets to know his Arsenal teammates more.
