Danish paper ekstrabladet.dk is today linking Arsenal, along with Premier League rivals Southampton, with a move for the highly-rated young Danish left-back Nicolai Boilesen who is currently with Ajax. The paper claimed that they got the story from the Daily Mirror but I was unable to find it on their site but then later in the article they claim that the players comments, which can be found below, were said directly to the Danish paper/website.
If it is true that we are in for the player it seems as if the player himself knew nothing about it until a Dutch paper (this really is a global transfer story) asked him how he felt about being linked with a move to the Premier League.
I have not heard anything about it. I got to know about it from the Dutch press 10 minutes ago, that is the only thing I know. So right now it is hard for me to decide anything since I know nothing about it. I’m working and concentrating fully on my rehabilitation here in Ajax. But I’m very flattered, if it is true a Premier League club have place a bid for me. But otherwise I have no comment.
So from what I can gather the Dutch press asked him about a story they had read in the Mirror linking him with Arsenal and the Danish site obtained the quotes. Or something.
Are we interested? Who the hell can tell from that! But as the transfer window gets ready to slam shut, be prepared for a host of names to be linked with Arsenal, most of which will simply be agents trying to engineer moves for their players with no actual interest from Arsenal FC themselves.
It should also be noted that the player is currently injured and does not expect to be back playing for between three and six weeks.
