It is being reported that Cesc Fabregas has refused to speak about Alex Song when asked about him during a press conference saying that he would not talk about other players especially Arsenal players.

This news will come as a shock to the rest of the Barcelona squad who don’t understand when they should keep their mouths closed.  We’ve had Iniesta, Busquets and Pique all speaking about how they would like Alex Song, who is still under contract with Arsenal, to join them at Barcelona.

Fabregas was the subject of an intense media campaign by Barcelona players and officials when he was Arsenal captain and he is bound to be aware of how badly this sort of behaviour is perceived.  But, more than anything, he will be aware of how unsettling these actions can be to the squad which contains the targeted player.

[UPDATE: When asked about Song to Barca by AS.com Cesc said:

I'd rather not talk about possible trades, out of respect to Arsenal, a club that I love. Sounding names like many every summer and come is welcome, but only the coach knows what we need most.
