A report has appeared on L’Equipe today stating that according to Sky Sports Arsenal were interested in signing Belgian striker Kevin Mirallas.
This isn’t the first time this story has surfaced, we reported it here back in the middle of July that Sky Sports, once again, were linking us with a move for the player who is currently playing for Olympiakos and managed to find the net 34 times in 49 starts.
I checked the Sky Sports site (UK) and could not find any fresh mention of this story so I’m unsure if it is a reference to the story which ran earlier in the summer but it’s not like L’Equipe to run an old story as a new one.
It was reported that Mirallas has a buyout clause of £6.4m which would put him right in Wenger’s price range and the 24 year old has a very good scoring record with all his clubs. He has also appeared for the Belgian national side on 27 occasions.
Mirallas moved to the Greek side from St Etienne two years ago and when we originally reported the story Sky were claiming the players agent was meeting with Arsenal officials to discussed the possibility of a move though no further information has come out since then.
Don’t know if this is true, but if internet speculation is to be believed from a few people who have been on the money with what has happened so far this summer, Arsenal could be bringing in two players before the window closes, one of whom would be Sahin.
